Day 44

We closed on our existing home! Whoooooooooo.

Lesa and I are free and clear of our existing home. It feels great, so much stress lifted from my shoulders once I had the check in hand. I went to the bank, deposited the check and then went to drop off the remaining down payment on our new home.

While we were there we saw plumbers hard at work inside the house. We didn't go in, so no pictures today.

Day 43 - HVAC

I got a call from Guardian this afternoon telling me I needed to stop by the house and verify the placement of the jacks, and speakers. When we arrived to take a look we were pleasantly surprised to find the HVAC completed. Both furnaces were installed and all the runs had been completed.

All the runs looked good. I need to add a tv in the den and a data jack in the basement home office. Tomorrow we close on our existing home. Hopefully we will have plumbers hard at work when we stop over at the house tomorrow!

Day 42

Framing is nearly complete! We only have steps to the bonus room missing and they should be installed tomorrow. Our plumbing and HVAC materials were delivered today as well.

Day 40 & 41

The roofers finished up work. I caught up with the PM and he told me that HVAC would start Wednesday which means framing will be wrapping up shortly.

We close on the sale of our current house on Wednesday as well. We've spent the past few days moving, cleaning, and prepping the house for sale. Hopefully everything goes smoothly. We are living with my Mom until the new house is done. We've been with her for a week now and so far things have been going well.

I'm still hoping that we are on track for a September delivery. I'd really like to be in the house not to long after school starts.

Day 38

Porch is up, roof is on, and windows are going in. What a busy day!

More pictures from tonight. Still need to frame the basement and the put in steps.

It looks a lot bigger from the side!

Day 37

Framing continues. We noticed some holes in walls, need to follow up with the PM about them.

Day 36

Framing continues! The rain has been holding off until after 5pm each day. We arrived just as an intense storm had passed. It was rather wet on the inside of the house. As long as they let it dry out before they button it up there shouldn't be any issues.

It was raining inside our house!

The bonus bedroom over the garage. It has its own private staircase, and full bathroom.

I'm hoping that the crew will finish up framing by Thursday and we are under roof by Monday of next week. Now that we can actually see our home its getting so much more exciting.

Day 33 & 34

We drove by the house several times this weekend and no work was done. We did have a very eventful and tiring weekend. We finished moving from our current home in to my Mothers. We close on our current home at the end of the month. We needed to prep the house for the movers coming on Friday. All that's left in our current house is our furniture, everything else is boxed up in my Mom's basement.

We are all exhausted. Lesa and I have decided that we are getting 2 guys and a truck to move the stuff we brought to my Mom's in to the new house. We are way to old to feel like this :D

More pictures this week of the house in progress.

Day 30 & Day 31

The framers showed up this afternoon and began organizing the lumber. I'm hoping that we will be under roof by Monday. Whoo!!

Prepping to frame the basement. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised after work today. Hopefully I will have a first floor. :D

Day 31: Framing is in full swing!

Lesa being silly :)

Day 28 & 29

Yesterday they prepped the basement to get poured. Talked with the PM the basement should be poured today and framing should begin on day 30 or 31 depended on what crew is available first. Not really anything exciting enough to warrant new pictures.

Once the framing starts I the pictures will start coming fast and furious again.

The basement has been poured!

Day 27

Nothing happened. Hopefully the project gets back on track shortly.

Busy day packing our current home and getting the non-furniture items in to storage. We will be moving out next week and living with my Mom. Time for a beer and some Chinese food!

Days 23-26

Nothing to report. Several days of rain delayed framing. On top of that it appears that the framers are MIA. Not sure how long we will be in a waiting pattern. I'd had hoped that we would be framed and under roof at this point. How disappointing.

Day 21 & 22

Day 21:

The contractors finished up the plumbing rough-ins today. Our yard is still torn up badly but we are closer to framing.

Day 22:

RAIN! How I hate thee. Nothing happening today.

Monday, July 8, 2013

Day 19 & 20

It was a quiet weekend. No work occurred that I could see. The PM told me that the house should be in framing by the end of the week after plumbing is completed.

Day 18 - Wood delivery!

Lou was right on the mark, our wood was delivered today! I manged to get over to the neighborhood as the truck was unloading.

My daughter near one of our doors and peering through a space in the lumber :)

The crews were hard at work finishing up our plumbing rough ins! Looks like we are ready to start framing. Lou said we should be framing by the end of next week. Probably won't have an update until then!
