First Purchases!

Lesa and I are getting ready to purchase two appliances for our home. We didn't upgrade the basic appliance package that came with the house, we felt we could get a better deal and get exactly what we wanted. With 4th of July sales in full swing I present our fridge and range!

Fridge:  LG Electronics 32.5 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel
Model # LFX33975ST

This fridge is huge! It's nearly 10 cu. ft. bigger than our current fridge.

Range: LG Electronics 6.1 cu. ft. Double Oven Gas Range
Model # LDG3036ST

The range is amazing. Double oven, 5 burner, 1 a 17K btu super boil burner. I can't wait to use this thing!

Lesa and I are planning to use the microwave and dishwasher that come with the house until they die. If they are anything like the appliances that came with our current house we won't have to wait to long...

  1. Awesome range and fridge. We wanted gas but didn't like the oven/warmer tray setup they offered, so we went with the electric dual oven range. What you picked up was what we hoped they offered (gas with 2 real ovens).

That is a lot of fridge! We're definitely getting a stainless French door fridge, but are so torn with everyone's selections touting their choices!

  2. I really like the LG appliances you selected. I prefer them to GE which is what is available in our community. Since a range is necessary for a certificate of occupancy, are you going to go with the base package and then swap them out after closing? I thought about doing this but didn't want to add anything else to our 'to do list.' I guess we could sell the ones that come with the house and use it towards the purchase of the appliances we like better. Have you thought about this?

  3. Yup, we are planning to sell the range and dishwasher that come with the house for a few hundred dollars on craigslist once we move in.

We also have GE appliances in our community and my wife and I are not fans.
